Salary £9.35 per hour
We are seeking part-time practitioners to join our casual pool, to maintain ratios by providing cover for Pre-school Practitioners/Key Persons during training, meetings, sickness, non-contact time or when children need one-to-one support and during lunch club. You will join a team of eleven based in pleasant purpose-built accommodation working with children aged 2 to 4 years, term times only, for 3.5 hour sessions between the hours of 8.45am and 3.30pm Monday – Thursday and 8.45am to 12.15pm on Fridays or sometimes, if required, for lunch club only. This will often be at short notice. We have previously found that pool staff will be doing at least one or two sessions per week on average and sometimes considerably more, however this cannot be guaranteed.
We need a competent responsible person. You should be flexible and a team player, happy to help out with whatever is needed. An appreciation of the need for confidentiality, knowledge of safeguarding and a commitment to equal opportunities are essential whilst previous experience in a similar setting, current first aid and food hygiene qualifications are desirable. Most importantly you should enjoy working with young children, having an understanding of their needs and child development. A level 3 qualification, PSLA Diploma, NVQ 3, NNEB or equivalent is essential.
